I wish you could see...

I wish you could see...
  • The four of us cuddled in bed reading books before 'nigh-nigh'
  • The four of us in the bathroom, playing the toy drums, singing our silly song, while you two dance... naked.
  • The way you both light up and run when daddy comes home from work.
  • Adelyn tyring to climb, lift, and do things she is way to small to do... she grunts, sticks her lip out, and tries with all she has.
  • Mike push his cars, play with his castle, and zone out while a movie is on.
  • Me, watching you as my my heart bursts and spills over!

This week...

We had a busy week...
On Monday... We went to the grocery store... or something.
On Tuesday.... we had a play date. We were supposed to meet with a group of mommies and have music time and breakfast. Instead all the kids played and ate! Adelyn you were and played with all the musical toys. You just love music. Mike, you were very slow to warm and shy. Then you started playing chase with a girl who thought you wanted her guitar and so she wacked really hard across the face with it. You cried and cried. I was so mad at that little girl's mom... she had not been very nice from the start anyways. So when you said, "Mama, lets go home and watch a movie" I pack us up and we came home.
On Wednesday... We were going to go to Austin, but it was cold and sleety. So we stayed in and made Valentine cards. It was fun... Mike, you are getting really creative and being so careful in your projects. Adelyn, again you think you can do everything (that's my girl) and you licked my stamp pad like it was an ice cream cone- yuck!
On Thursday... We headed to Austin to see Aunt Kelly and the Kids. You two had a blast as always. Reese threw a book and hit Mike in the face. Mike locked himself in Rhiannon's closet. Adelyn pushed the stroller everywhere, pooped THREE times, and cried and cried because she could not do things like the big kids! You ate a ton of cheeto balls and we had eggs and toast for dinner. Adelyn moved during her bang trim and now has short crooked bangs (they are so cute) You colored, jumped on the trampoline, played with EVERY toy, and made lots of noise. Wonder what it will be like when baby Reagan is born- there will be five of you!!
On Friday... We went to Mike's soccer class. Mike, you are doing a great job. You are such a good listener, your nice to the other kids, and you are really building those soccer skills. Adelyn, you drove me nuts!! You think you can play soccer. I spent more time running you down that talking to the other mommies. As we were leaving I bought you snacks from the vending machine- in maybe 10 seconds I head an old lady yelling... "Where's you Mother?! You can't come out here?" When I look up, it was Adelyn!! She ran out two doors and was headed into the parking lot before I caught her! UGH! The old lady gave me a dirty look and said "You better hold on to her!" Thanks, Addy! On a high note... we ran into a girl at Khols whose name was ADELYNN... it was fun to chat with her mom about how she came up with the name... she said "I thought I made the name myself.... guess I didn't" lol We are going to meet daddy at the park for dinner...on of our favorite things to do.

PJ's

You two always look so cute and comfy in your pj's. For me they have come to be a symbol for quality time. At night, after bath, we dress you in your pjs and either play on the floor and read books or have cookies and read books. Then, when you wake up, we have a cup of milk and cuddle in our pjs on the couch...

Bath Time

Bath time at our house has been a routine since Mike was born. Between the two of you I bet you have only missed five baths in three years! Daddy is the bath giver around here and it is something you all look forward to every night around 7:30. We have lots of bath toys, bath books, and yummy smelling bubble bath. Sometimes mom comes in and plays the bath drums to get you two to dance and I make up sill songs. Most of the time I just listen outside the door to the giggles and laughs the three of you share. I know this special time will not last forever, so we will continue to cherish it for a little while longer!

All about Mike...

Hi Mikey; mommy's best friend.

I wanted to start out our new blog by catching up on who you are and what you are like... you know, like the preface in a book.

You are a wonderful 3 1/2 years old. You, at three has been my favorite year yet! I hate to tell you this, but you are a mama's boy. I love and encourage every minute of it. We are two peas in a pod, bffs, and soul mates.

First off, you look just like your daddy and ya, know I love that. When dad came home from being in Afghanistan for 15 months and we were pregnant with you... I would lay next him and watch him sleep- so grateful to be breathing the same air. Every night, I would pray that you would look just like him and when you came out daddy's first words were, "Oh Kristy, he looks just like me!" and ya still do. I will say that you seem to be a tad small for your age, but you have big feet and long legs to grow into. You eat like no kid I have ever known and you eat it all... veggies, meat, fruit, sweets, even couscous!

You are such a lover, Mike. It makes me feel so good when you randomly hug me and kiss me. You tell me "Mama I LUV you so much" and you even tell me I am pretty. You have a big, big heart and are not afraid to show it. Cuddling and snuggling with you at night and in the morning is one for our favorite things to with you. Some daddy and mommy tease each other and fight over who gets to cuddle first!

Funny, smart, and easy going would all be good words to describe you. As we say. "He is so good natured!" All of your teachers have adored you and you have never met a stranger- although you can be shy around pretty girls.

One of your newest traits is being helpful. You help me switch out the laundry, cook, and fetch diapers for sister, you feel so proud and happy. We are working on cleaning up your room, but since we are living at Grandma right now- it is hard to do!

Some of your current interests are... boats, castles, and coloring. You have been pretty into trains, dinosaurs, and dump trucks for awhile. You are also in a soccer class and call yourself "soccer boy" I have no clue how you came up with that super hero identity, but I like it. You like small things and are getting good at pretending an drole playing. If anyone ever asks you what you want to do your answer would be "watch a movie" Scobby Doo is at the top of your list! If we ask who you want do it with... "Jolene, Reese, Annie, and Pops" Of course you also adore your Lala and Grandma! If a grandmothers love was gold... you son, would be the wealthiest kid in the whole universe. Man, are those ladies crazy about you!

I could go on and on for days about all of your redeeming traits, but bar far my favorite is how you play the role of big brother to Adelyn. From the day you met her in the hospital you have loved her. You are gentle and sweet to her. You are also very protective of her and have been in a few shoving matching over her... most with Rhiannon who also adores her and calls her 'hers' but even with kids at play dates and parks, who knock her down or try to talk to her. I hope to capture more stories about your love for your little sister in the weeks to come and I pray that you will always be a dear brother to her.

Something I hope you always will know is how loved you are... daddy and I both feel like sometimes our hearts will explode when we watch you. You amaze us and are the very best part of us! We always joke we owe it to the world to make more babies because you are such a gift!

Here we go...

Mike and Addy,
So here we go... mom is starting her 3rd blog! But, this one is just for you two. I have been staying at home with you for eight months now and want to make sure I capture exactly what are blessed life is full of. I do not ever want to forget the darling things you say, the new things you learn, or any second of your growing personalities. Sure, I love to scrapbook and have tons of pictures, but it is the journaling I want to focus on here. My goal is to write notes and letters to you two every week (maybe more) to document our little life together. I hope someday we can all sit down and read it together...laugh, remember, and cherish this very special time we have!

love, Mommy
